What has happened to photography? It’s become more technical than artistic. People have taken every bit of emotion, every bit of beauty, of fun, of everything that makes photography an art and replaced it with rules, headache, stress and an utter lack of what I thought the whole purpose of it really was. What happened to people liking art simply because it’s beautiful, because its relatable, because it can make you laugh, because it can make you cry, because you just like looking at it? I don’t know. I really just don’t know. I have searched deviantART for artists who are sick of boring, emotionless portraits and cliché, run-of-the-mill, unimaginative landscapes and still lifes. Who ever said that Holgas and Polariods aren’t legitimate photographic mediums? I refuse to believe that and so do these artists. They see photography as a way to express themselves. A way to show the beauty, the pain, and the happiness of their lives. And here are some accomplishments of the indie photography scene. © Youreuglykbie Be creative in exploring and experiencing the edges and limits of photography. |
